What an image's Content Credentials are
Not a badge placed on the page: the JPEG or PNG file itself carries a signature that can be verified.
What gets embedded
Before they are saved, generated JPEG and PNG files get a manifest signed to the C2PA specification embedded in them. Change a single byte and verification fails.
What isn't included
The manifest contains neither the prompt nor any person's name. For video we currently attach a provenance record, which isn't embedded in the file yet, and we don't claim otherwise.
Anyone can verify
On the verification page you can paste a work ID or drop in an image file directly. No sign-in needed.
