How credits are calculated, and why some models stay closed without a price
The price is the upstream cost times a multiplier. If we can't find the cost, we don't offer it.
One formula
1 credit equals US$0.01. Every model and every resolution tier has a cost, and cost times the multiplier is the price. The number on the button and the amount actually held come from the same formula.
If we can't find it, we don't offer it
We don't guess at combinations the upstream hasn't priced. We'd rather that option be unavailable than overcharge or undercharge afterward.
Plans won't pass losses on to you
Plan credits are calculated for the worst case, so you never get a situation like "the more we sell, the more we lose, so we quietly cut quality".
